| Newton's rivals are blown away
CHRIS
Newton (Middridge CRT) claimed victory by almost two minutes in the Stockton
Wheelers 25-mile time trial at Crathorne Village.
Newton's time of 56.18 showed just what a hard day it was with a strong
North-east wind.
Second-placed Andy Gunson (Barrow Central Wheelers) recorded 58.11 to
beat regular winner Paul Wildsmith (Barnesbury CC) by five seconds.
Tough Conditions were so tough that only five riders beat the hour and
only 78 of the 120-rider field faced the timekeeper.
