Silver for Newton

Latest from the GB camp is that in the final of the Scratch race, Chris Newton added a Silver medal to his Gold from yesterday when he was second to New Zealand rider Hayden Godfrey. Poland was third whilst Isle of Man rider, Mark Christian was 11th. The Olympic Academy rider Mark Christian attacked at the start with two others to gain a lap but the key move came halfway through the race when Newton and eight other riders also got clear of the rest of the field and gained a lap before a sprint decided the medals with Chris finishing third in the sprint with Veldt ahead of him but a lap down. Mark was 11th.
